Intimate surgery in Düsseldorf

Labia reduction and mons veneris correction

What forms of intimate surgery are there?

There are two different types of corrections in intimate surgery:

  1. If the labia minora are too prominent, we offer our patients a labia reduction.
  2. If excessive fat accumulates on the mons veneris because of fat distribution disorders, we can permanently remove the excess fatty tissue by liposuction and thus reduce the voluminous mons veneris.

Labia reduction

Information about labia reduction

  • Treatment duration: approx. 1 hour
  • Anaesthesia: local anaesthesia, sedation optional
  • Stay in hospital: outpatient
  • Downtime: no sexual intercourse for 4 weeks
  • Restriction from sports: 6 weeks
  • Costs: from € 2,000 - (plus anaesthetic costs)

Labial hypertrophy (excessive labia minora) can be caused by wearing certain clothes such as tight trousers, bikinis, thongs or certain sportswear. This can be bothersome during certain activities like cycling, horse riding and even sexual intercourse. As a result, sore spots, pain and swelling can occur.

Due to an increased feeling of shame and the associated psychological problems, everyday life can become torture for those affected. Sauna, nudism, or undressing in front of a partner can be stressful. Functionally, the labia serve to close the genital opening and protect the vagina from infections, foreign bodies and dehydration. In surgical corrections it is important to maintain a balance between form and function. You can rely on our many years of experience in this area.

1. How does the labia reduction work?

We perform the labia reduction under local anesthesia with sedation.

The procedure takes about 1 hour. The edges of the wound are closed with self-dissolving sutures. After a short rest period, you can leave the practice accompanied by an escort.

The operation takes place in an area with good blood circulation. The wound typically heals very quickly (after 2 weeks) and without complications if good care is taken. The sensation remains unchanged and the postoperative pain is very low. After one week you are normally fit to work again. The scar is placed at the inner edge of the labia minora and is not visible from the outside.

2. What should be considered after a labia reduction?

After a labia reduction, swelling and a slight bruise in the pubic area can be expected. After about six weeks, the main part of the swelling starts to subside. The remaining, minor swelling will disappear within the following 6 months.

After the procedure, pain of varying intensity may occur in the first 1-2 days. This can be slightly improved with rest and painkillers.

In order to prevent wound healing disorders, we recommend avoiding any type of friction and physical stress on this region during the first six weeks (sexual intercourse, cycling, horse riding, jogging, use of tampons during menstruation, etc.). Everyday actions like sitting, walking and lying down are allowed.

3. What are the risks of labia reduction surgery?

In general, complications can occur with any operation. Therefore, labia reduction surgery is not excluded from this. In very rare cases there have been wound healing disorders. If you have the operation performed by an experienced specialist in plastic surgery, this operation is considered to have very few complications.

4. Will I be able to work after labia reduction surgery?

Although this operation will only cause minimal stress, you should stay at home for a few days and take it easy. This is definitely beneficial for the wound healing.

5. Will my sensation in the genital region change as a result of the intimate correction?

Thanks to a gentle surgical technique, we avoid injury to the nerves responsible for sensation. Therefore, sensations in the genital area remain unchanged after the procedure.

6. What costs should I expect for a labia reduction?

Basically, the costs always depend on the extent of the treatment as a whole. We would be happy to discuss your personal preferences and requirements in an initial consultation and then provide you with a detailed cost plan. The costs for a labia reduction, on average, start from € 2,000.

Mons veneris correction in Düsseldorf

Information about mons veneris correction

  • Treatment duration: approx. 1 hour
  • Anaesthesia: local anaesthesia, sedation optional
  • Stay in hospital: outpatient
  • Downtime: approx. 2 - 3 days
  • Restriction from sports: 6 weeks
  • Price: from € 1,500 -

In the case of fat distribution disorders, usually of a hormonal nature, or in the context of being overweight, excessive fat accumulation on the mons veneris can occur. This can be very disturbing, especially if it is accompanied by a slackening of the abdominal wall. Through liposuction, the excess tissue can be permanently removed and thus the voluminous mons veneris can be reduced.

1. How does the mons veneris correction work?

We perform the mons veneris correction under local anaesthetic with sedation.

The outpatient surgery takes about 1 hour. The suction is performed with the gentle water jet assisted method. If there is a slackening of the lower abdomen, this procedure can be combined with a "mini-abdominoplasty" (a tightening of the lower abdomen). After a short rest period, you can leave the practice accompanied by an escort.

After the operation, swelling and haematomas may occur, but these subside after a few days. Pain of varying intensity may occur in the first 1-2 days after the operation, but can be reduced without any problems by applying a cold pack and taking painkillers.

2. What should be considered after a mons veneris correction?

To reduce swelling as quickly as possible, you will wear compression pants for 6 weeks after the operation. The stitches for the small punctures can be removed after 10 days.

You should avoid sports and sexual activities for 3-4 weeks.

3. Are there visible scars after a mons veneris correction?

During liposuction in the pubic mound area, two skin incisions of approximately 5 mm in length are made. They are positioned in such a way that they are virtually invisible once the wound has healed completely.

4. What are the risks involved in a mons veneris correction?

In principle, complications can occur with any operation. For this reason, mons veneris correction is not excluded from any risks. In very rare cases, this can lead to wound healing disorders. If you have the operation performed by an experienced specialist in plastic surgery, this operation is considered to have very few complications.

5. Will I be able to work after the mons veneris correction?

We recommend that you stay at home for a few days and take it easy. This is definitely beneficial for the wound healing.

6. Does the mons veneris correction change my sensation in the genital region?

Thanks to a gentle surgical technique, we avoid damaging the nerves responsible for sensation. Therefore, sensations in the genital area are unchanged after the procedure.

7. What costs should I expect for a mons veneris correction?

Basically, the costs always depend on the extent of the treatment as a whole. We would be happy to discuss your individual preferences and requirements in an initial consultation and then draw up an exact cost for you. On average, the costs for a mons veneris correction start from € 1,500.
